Public Health Program Specialist/ Hands “Parent Visitor”
General Duties include: This position serves under the direction of the Director or other appropriate supervisor. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to; Conduct parent visit assessment/survey after review of hospital or clinic record of prenatal or birth thru interview and follow-up to provide in home early childhood education and family support. Teach parents good health and nutrition habits, coping techniques and facilitate parents to understand their role in education/nutrition of their child. Keep accurate logs of visits of services, schedules and charting as required by program. Plan and implement activities for agency policy designed to assist infants and toddlers from birth up to three (3) years of age, such as information or referrals to social services, health and education. May conduct Home visitation on an as needed basis.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree plus Special Program Requirements per 902 KAR 4:120.
Special Program Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Nursing, Early Childhood Education.
OR
Bachelors Degree in Social or Behavioral Science or related field with one (1) year experience performing case management services. Masters Degree in Human Services may substitute for the one (1) year of experience.
Additional substitution(s):
Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development and three (3) years of Public Health, early childhood or education experience.
OR
Associate Degree in Nursing with Licensure in Kentucky or compact state and three (3) years of RN experience.
Starting Salary: $15.28 - $19.01/hr negotiable with additional experience. Grade 14

Local Health Nurse II

The Bullitt County Health Department is accepting applications for a full time Local Health Nurse II. Duties include, but are not limited to: immunizations, interviewing and counseling clients, performing physical assessments of women and children, developing treatment plans, and providing patient/family health care education. May be called on to mentor/oversee Local Health Nurse I.
Minimum Requirements: Must have a Registered Nurse (RN) license from Kentucky or compact state and one (1) year of RN experience. BSN or Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Administration, Nursing Education or Public Health may substitute for the one (1) year experience. The successful applicant will be required to pass a criminal background check. The minimum starting hourly rate of pay is $17.12 per hour (negotiable with additional qualifications, if applicable), with excellent benefits.
